In 1929 a machine-tractor workshop was organized in Ryazhsk to repair agricultural machinery. During its existence, the workshop gained experience, expanded the range of work performed, and by the fortieth year its staff reached 70 people.
In 1947 on its basis was organized an inter-district workshop of overhaul repair, which performed restoration of engines of tractors УД, ХТЗ (UD, HTZ) and engines of cars ЗиС-5, ГАЗ ММ (ZiS-5, GAZ MM).
In 10 years the workshop rose to the level of an automobile repair plant. A special workshop of the enterprise produced metal barrels with a capacity of 200 liters for fuel and lubricants - 70 pieces per shift. Since 1962 the enterprise was called automobile repair plant of Ryazhsk, which was engaged in overhaul of ЗИЛ-130, ЗИЛ-150, ММЗ-555 (ZIL-130, ZIL-150, MMZ-555) automobiles, engines ЗИЛ-130, ЗИЛ-120, ЗИЛ-157Д (ZIL-130, ZIL-120, ZIL-157D) and production of boilers for steaming fodder КВ-100, КВ-300, КТФ-300 (KV-100, KV-300, KTF-300). By 1971, an automobile repair building and plant management were put into operation at the plant
Since 1993 the plant started to produce municipal machinery. The first rear-loading garbage trucks МКГ (MKG) and МКЗ (MKZ) developed by Moscow Small Implementing Enterprise "ECOMTECH" laid the foundation for the creation of modern production of municipal machinery in Ryazhsk. The enterprise produces more than 40 items of products.
As a result of privatization of the enterprise by the staff of the plant it became known as "Ryazhsky Avtoremontnyi Zavod" JSC. The joint-stock company was registered by the administration of Ryazhsk district on April 21, 1993.
The machines produced today are among the best in Russia, and none of the plants producing similar products has such a wide range of products. Over the years, a significant segment of the sales market has been conquered from competitors. The share of "Ryazhsky Avtoremontnyi Zavod" JSC products in the market of body garbage trucks is 36%, in the market of bunker trucks - 54%, in the market of road vehicles - 5.1%. Along with the products listed above, the company also manufactures component parts for this special equipment - hydraulic cylinders, high-pressure hoses. It repairs municipal and road machinery. Provides other services for the population and enterprises.
